1. Overview
Labbaik accounts belong to the masjid, madrasah or maktab you're part of. They hold your records as the data controller, and Labbaik processes them on their instructions. So a deletion request goes to them, and we help them carry it out.
This page explains how to ask, in the Labbaik app on iOS and Android, at app.uselabbaik.com, or by email. You don't need the app installed.
2. From the App or Website
Parents
- Sign in and open your Profile.
- Tap Request account deletion at the bottom of the page.
- Read how it works, add a note if you like, then tap Send request.
Teachers and staff
- Sign in and tap More. On a computer, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Tap Request account deletion.
- Read how it works, add a note if you like, then tap Send request.
Your request goes to your organisation's admin and to the Labbaik team, by email. You'll see a confirmation straight away.
Admins closing an organisation
Go to Account → Settings → Close account. This closes the whole organisation and deletes its data, including every student, attendance and payment record.
3. Can't Sign In?
Email [email protected] with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include:
- your name and the email address on your account
- the name of your masjid, madrasah or maktab.
We'll check the request is from you by replying to the email address on the account, then pass it to your organisation's admin and handle it with them.
4. What Happens Next
Deletion isn't instant. Your organisation's admin reviews the request in line with their own record-keeping duties, and we carry it out with them. We aim to finish within 30 days and email you when it's done.
5. What We Delete
- Your account: your name, email address, phone number, role, sign-in details and preferences.
- Notifications: your push notification subscriptions and messaging preferences.
- When an organisation is closed: everything it holds on Labbaik, including student records, attendance, progress, classes, messages, certificates, files and settings, and the accounts of its staff and parents.
6. What We Keep, and for How Long
We keep a small amount of data where the law requires it:
- Payment records: kept for 7 years, as HMRC requires.
- Gift Aid declarations: kept for as long as HMRC requires charities to keep them.
- A record of the deletion request itself: kept so we can show it was carried out.
Stripe holds card and payment data as an independent data controller under its own privacy policy, so Labbaik can't delete it. If a certificate was issued to you, its anonymous fingerprint stays on the Bitcoin blockchain permanently. It contains no personal information. See Certificate Verification in our Privacy Policy.
7. Deleting Your Child's Data
Your child's records belong to the organisation they attend. When you request deletion in the app, add a note saying you want your children's records removed too, or ask the organisation directly. Records the organisation is legally required to keep, such as payment history, are kept for the periods listed above.
