Failed payments retry automatically. Stripe intelligently retries failed card and Direct Debit payments, so less goes uncollected. See fee collection
Every payment update on WhatsApp. Setup links, retries, failed payments and receipts go straight to the student or parent. See WhatsApp
Stripe's fee is an estimate for UK card payments and can vary. Labbaik's fee only applies to payments taken through Stripe: cash and bank transfers you record carry none, and every payment goes straight to your own Stripe account.
Common questions
Is Labbaik really free?
Yes — completely. There is no monthly fee, no setup cost, and no credit card required to get started. Labbaik is free to use forever. We only earn a platform fee on card payments collected through Stripe — starting at 1.5% and dropping as your collections grow. Cash and bank transfer payments logged in Labbaik are never charged a platform fee, no matter the volume. If you collect nothing by card, you pay us nothing. Ever. And when you do collect by card, we recommend passing the fees on: students or parents pay the small Stripe and platform fee on top, so you keep the full fee and Labbaik still costs you nothing.
Can I just use Labbaik for free and never pay anything?
Yes — it's free to use, no catch. Run your whole masjid, maktab or madrasah — students, attendance, progress, certificates, communication — without ever connecting a payment method. If collecting fees by cash or bank transfer starts becoming difficult to manage, you can plug in Stripe whenever you're ready and start automating collections, including full WhatsApp automation for payment setup, reminders and failed payments. See how fee collection works →
What counts as a transaction?
Only card payments processed through Stripe — monthly student fees, one-off admission fees and certificate fees such as Nikah collected via your Labbaik payment page. Donations are never charged a platform fee. Cash and bank transfer payments recorded manually in the platform do not count and are never charged.
Do you take a fee on donations?
No. Labbaik takes 0% of every donation, including Zakat. Stripe's own processing fee still applies, and donors can choose to cover it so your organisation receives the full amount. Compatible organisations, those that take payments through their own Stripe account and collect their students' fees through Labbaik by Stripe, can also receive our 100% donation policy: you keep the full amount of every donation other than Zakat, and we credit back the Stripe fees each month, up to a monthly limit. Zakat donors always cover Stripe's fee, so Zakat reaches you in full either way. See how donations work →
How much do Labbaik Live video classes cost?
Labbaik Live is pay as you go: 0.35 pence (GBP) per person, per minute, billed monthly and separately from your plan, with no subscription and no minimum spend. That's 21 pence per person for an hour-long class. Recording is optional, at 2 pence (GBP) per recorded minute, saved to your own Google Drive or Dropbox. Every organisation gets 2,500 free minutes to try it, with no card needed, and you can set a monthly spending limit. See Labbaik Live →
What is the platform fee exactly?
When a payment is collected through Labbaik, two fees apply. First, Stripe charges their standard processing fee — ~1.4% + 20p per transaction on card payments, or 1% (capped at £4) on BACS Direct Debit (UK). These are the same fees Stripe charges everywhere, including our competitors. On top of that, Labbaik takes a platform fee that starts at 1.5% and decreases as your monthly collections grow. Worked example at the starting rate: on a £100 card payment from an organisation in the first tier, approximately £1.40 + 20p goes to Stripe and £1.50 goes to Labbaik — around £3.10 total, with £96.90 reaching your organisation. As your monthly collections grow, the Labbaik share of that falls automatically — you never have to ask or negotiate. We show this transparently because you deserve to know exactly what you're paying and to whom.
Is there a student limit on the Safar plan?
No — none at all. Other platforms cap you at 50 or 150 students and charge you more to grow. Safar has no student cap. Whether you have 20 students or 2,000, the platform is free. You only pay on card payments collected via Stripe — cash and bank transfers carry no fee.
What is the Manzil plan and who is it for?
Manzil is for established institutions and networks that want a fixed, predictable cost and a true partnership. You get a dedicated account manager, hands-on onboarding and full data migration, direct developer WhatsApp support, and an SLA-backed 99.9% uptime guarantee. Everything else — custom branding, multi-site management, invoice billing, and annual reviews — is included too. Pricing is tailored to your student count and needs. Get in touch and we'll work out the right number together.
Can I switch from Safar to Manzil later?
Yes, at any time. There is no penalty for switching and all your data carries over seamlessly. Just get in touch with us.
Do you offer pricing for charities and community groups?
Yes. If you run a charity or community group, we'll agree a simple fixed price together, with no Labbaik platform fees on top. Stripe card fees still apply. Masajid, madrasahs and maktabs use the standard Safar and Manzil plans. Talk to us →
Do you support multiple currencies?
Yes. Labbaik currently supports GBP for UK masjids, maktabs and madrasahs, with additional currency support planned for Malaysia, Pakistan, and the Middle East. Get in touch if you have a specific currency requirement.
Who manages the Stripe payments?
Stripe Connect is used so payments go directly into your organisation's own Stripe account — Labbaik never holds your funds. We automatically deduct our platform fee at the point of transaction via Stripe's platform fee mechanism.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is stored with row-level security enforced on every table. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe — we never store card details. Your organisation's data is fully isolated from every other institution on the platform.
How does Labbaik compare to other maktab and madrasah platforms?
Most maktab and madrasah platforms charge a fixed monthly subscription — typically £35–70/month — regardless of whether your fee collection is working, whether you're in term time, or whether you have 30 students or 300. You pay the same whether you get value or not. Labbaik is structurally different: we only earn when you collect card payments through Stripe. If Labbaik isn't helping your organisation run better, we make nothing. That means we're always incentivised to make the platform genuinely useful — not just to get you signed up. We also built Labbaik specifically for masjids, maktabs and madrasahs, with Boys and Girls support, Hifz tracking, WhatsApp payment requests, and sibling discounts built in from day one — not bolted on as extras.
Every masjid, maktab and madrasah deserves great tools.
