Questions, answered plainly
Everything mosque committees, maktab administrators and parents ask us most — how Labbaik works day to day, what it really costs, and how student data is kept safe.
About Labbaik
What the platform is and who it serves.
Labbaik is a management platform built specifically for masajid, maktabs and madrasahs. It replaces paper registers, spreadsheets and WhatsApp chasing with one system covering attendance, curriculum progress, fee collection, registration, donations, events, verifiable certificates and a parent portal. See all features →
Anyone running Islamic education or community programmes — a single teacher with a handful of students, a mosque committee managing hundreds, or an online Quran tutor working across time zones. If you teach Qa'idah, Quran, Tajweed, Hifz or Alimiyyah, Labbaik was made for you.
Not at all. There is no student cap, no class limit and no monthly fee on the free Safar plan, so a class of twelve and a maktab of six hundred use the same platform.
Labbaik runs the full maktab at Masjid Irshad, Luton — around 80 students — where it replaced paper registers, Excel and manual WhatsApp reminders and grew collected revenue by roughly 133% without raising fees. Other UK Islamic supplementary schools have since adopted it. Read the case study →
Labbaik Labs Ltd, a UK company registered in England & Wales (Company No. 17166064) and based in Milton Keynes. It began as an internal tool built for an Alimah teaching at Masjid Irshad's maktab, and grew into the platform used by institutions today. Meet the team →
Pricing & platform fees
What Labbaik costs, and when it costs nothing.
The Safar plan is free forever — £0 per month, no setup cost, no credit card required, no student cap. Labbaik only earns a graduated platform fee on card payments you collect through Stripe on the platform. The Manzil plan is a fixed monthly cost with no Labbaik platform fee per transaction, priced to your institution's size. Compare plans →
Yes — it's free to use, no catch. Run your whole masjid, maktab or madrasah — students, attendance, progress, certificates, communication — without ever connecting a payment method. If collecting fees by cash or bank transfer starts becoming difficult to manage, you can plug in Stripe whenever you're ready and start automating collections, including full WhatsApp automation for payment setup, reminders and failed payments. See how fee collection works →
It is graduated by monthly card volume, not flat: 1.5% on the first £3,000 a month, 1.0% from £3,000–£8,000, 0.75% from £8,000–£20,000, 0.5% from £20,000–£50,000 and 0.35% above £50,000. The bands are marginal, so each rate applies only to the portion of volume inside it and your effective rate falls as you grow.
No. Cash and bank transfer payments recorded manually in Labbaik carry no platform fee at any volume. If your institution collects nothing by card, Labbaik costs you nothing.
Yes, and it's what we recommend. Turn on pass-the-fees for a class and Labbaik sets the price so the student or parent pays Stripe's processing fee (around 1.4% + 20p) and the Labbaik platform fee on top, worked out to the penny. You receive every pound of the fee you set, so Labbaik costs your institution nothing at all. It's optional, class by class: absorb the fees instead and they come out of the collected amount, so on a £100 fee you receive about £96.90. Open the fee calculator →
There is no trial to expire, because the core platform is free permanently. No monthly fee, no student cap, no time limit.
Everything in Safar plus a dedicated UK account manager, priority WhatsApp support, custom branding and subdomain, an SLA with uptime guarantee, onboarding and training, a WhatsApp bot for parent and student queries, multi-site and network management, invoice billing and an annual student band review. Pricing is quoted to your student count. Request a Manzil quote →
Yes. If you run a charity or community group, we'll agree a simple fixed price together, with no Labbaik platform fees on top. Stripe card fees still apply. Masajid, madrasahs and maktabs use the standard Safar and Manzil plans. Talk to us →
Payments & donations
How money moves, and who holds it.
Labbaik connects to Stripe. Admission fees and monthly subscriptions are automated, parents pay through a secure link, and you get a failed payment retry dashboard, branded payment links you can send over WhatsApp, and a real-time revenue view by class. How fee collection works →
No. Funds settle directly into your own organisation's Stripe account. Labbaik never holds, pools or touches your income.
Yes. Siblings are detected automatically by guardian email, and the sibling discount you set is applied without staff intervention. You choose the amount, as a percentage or a fixed sum. Manual concessions can be set per family for hardship cases.
Yes. Labbaik supports BACS Direct Debit as well as card payments, saved cards and recurring subscriptions — all through Stripe, with automated retries on failures. Cash and bank transfers can also be recorded manually with no platform fee.
Yes. UK institutions get HMRC-compatible payroll built in: salaries, Tax, National Insurance, pensions and student loan deductions are worked out automatically for every member of staff on every run, with payslips generated too. Labbaik handles the numbers — submitting to HMRC still sits with you or your accountant, and full automatic submission is on our roadmap. Outside the UK, a standard payroll covers other countries.
Yes. One-tap donations support Apple Pay and Google Pay, trackable campaigns such as a Ramadan appeal or roof fund with live progress visible to donors, recurring giving, and a donor dashboard. Gift Aid is available for UK registered charities.
Automatic Stripe card payments are live in 44 countries, with more opening up next. Everywhere else, organisations use Labbaik in full and record cash or bank transfer payments manually — with no platform fee. Check your country →
Teaching & curriculum
Attendance, progress and the books you already teach.
Yes. Asatidh get their own dedicated teacher portal, and role access is gated to it — they see only their own classes, registers, progress tracking and reporting tools. Admin controls, fee management and organisation-wide settings are completely out of view and out of reach.
It is one-tap and mobile-first. The register opens on any phone, marks the ustadh present automatically, and sends instant absence alerts to parents by WhatsApp and email.
Progress is tracked across Qa'idah, Tajweed, Quran, Hifz and Alimiyyah — including the full Safar publication curriculum (IS1–6, Duas, Qaidah, Tajwid), Iqra and Noorani Qaidah, and Alimiyyah (Dars-e-Nizami) kitabs, tracked kitab by kitab and section by section. The Labbaik Library's Alimiyyah shelf holds Fiqh, Hadith, Aqidah, Arabic, Nahw, Sarf, Balaghah, Mantiq and Tafseer kitabs, from Nur al-Idah and Mukhtasar al-Quduri to Al-Hidayah, Sharh al-Aqa'id and Sahih al-Bukhari, and you can upload any other book for Labbaik to split into sections automatically. See progress tracking →
Hifz is tracked surah by surah from Juz Amma onwards, with Sabak, monthly progress snapshots, exam tools, star student recognition and a Hifz dashboard for the whole class.
Yes. Each year group gets its own kitab list, and teachers track every class and student through each kitab section by section, from Nur al-Idah and Mukhtasar al-Quduri to Al-Hidayah, Sharh al-Aqa'id and Sahih al-Bukhari, picked from the Labbaik Library or uploaded as a PDF. Class sections can also be set to adult self-registration, and adult learners receive their own progress notifications in the student portal without needing a parent account. Browse the Alimiyyah kitabs →
Yes. Separate class sections, schedules, staff access and even separate Stripe accounts can run for boys' and girls' maktabs inside one organisation.
Yes. Run live classes with Labbaik Live, built in at 0.35 pence (GBP) per person, per minute with 2,500 free minutes to start, or connect your organisation's own Zoom account by OAuth and the correct meeting link is attached to each session and shared with students, parents and ticket holders. Recordings stay in your own Google Drive or Dropbox and can be published to a playback library for watching back on demand. Online classes & events →

Parents & registration
The family experience, from sign-up onwards.
With a magic link sent to their email, with Google, or with a code sent on WhatsApp — no password to remember and no app store download. Admins and teachers sign in with a magic link, Google or a passkey, so staff have no passwords either. The portal installs to the phone home screen as a progressive web app and behaves like a native app. Tour the parent portal →
One unified view for all their children: live attendance and absence history, curriculum progress month by month, exam results, fees and payment history, announcements and opt-in push notifications. They can also update card details and fix failed payments themselves.
Each organisation gets a public registration link with class-specific forms, custom fields and UK postcode lookup. Submissions land in a pending queue, an admin approves with one click, and the parent automatically receives a secure Stripe payment link by email.
Yes. Siblings are grouped under one family account by guardian email and the sibling discount applies automatically.
There is no app store download. Both the parent portal and the teacher register are installable progressive web apps that work on any modern phone, tablet or laptop.
Data, privacy & security
Where student records live and who can reach them.
Yes. Labbaik Labs Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO reference ZC136003) and complies with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with row-level security enforced in the database. Our Data Protection Officer is reachable at [email protected]. Read our security page →
In London, UK, encrypted and backed up daily. Every organisation's data is fully isolated in the database — no other maktab can reach yours.
Admins have full access to their own organisation. Teachers see the students in the classes they teach (or their department), and admins choose any extra permissions. Staff DBS records are limited to admins and head teachers. Parents see only their own children. Nothing is shared between organisations.
Yes. Your institution is the data controller and Labbaik acts as data processor. Our UK GDPR Data Processing Agreement is published at uselabbaik.com/dpa and covers every organisation from sign-up, free. Email [email protected] if you'd like a countersigned copy. Read the Data Processing Agreement →
Yes. Your records remain yours. Admins can download a ZIP of CSV files of everything your organisation records — students, attendance, payments, classes, donations, Gift Aid, events, staff, payroll and more — from Account → Settings → Export data at any time, and we'll send a complete copy including uploaded documents within 72 hours on request, free. There's no lock-in or exit fee.
