Is Labbaik really free?

Yes — completely. There is no monthly fee, no setup cost, and no credit card required to get started. Labbaik is free to use forever. We only earn a platform fee on card payments collected through Stripe — starting at 1.5% and dropping as your collections grow. Cash and bank transfer payments logged in Labbaik are never charged a platform fee, no matter the volume. If you collect nothing by card, you pay us nothing. Ever.

What counts as a transaction?

Only card payments processed through Stripe — monthly student fees, one-off admission fees, or donations collected via your Labbaik payment page. Cash and bank transfer payments recorded manually in the platform do not count and are never charged.

What is the platform fee exactly?

Accepted Answer

When a payment is collected through Labbaik, two fees apply. First, Stripe charges their standard processing fee — ~2.9% + 30¢ per transaction on card payments, or 0.8% (capped at $5) on ACH Direct Debit (US). These are the same fees Stripe charges everywhere, including our competitors. On top of that, Labbaik takes a platform fee that starts at 1.5% and decreases as your monthly collections grow. Worked example at the starting rate: on a $100 card payment from an organisation in the first tier, approximately $3.20 goes to Stripe and $1.50 goes to Labbaik — around $4.70 total, with $95.30 reaching your organisation. As your monthly collections grow, the Labbaik share of that falls automatically — you never have to ask or negotiate. We show this transparently because you deserve to know exactly what you're paying and to whom.

Is there a student limit on the Safar plan?

No — none at all. Other platforms cap you at 50 or 150 students and charge you more to grow. Safar has no student cap. Whether you have 20 students or 2,000, the platform is free. You only pay on card payments collected via Stripe — cash and bank transfers carry no fee.

What is the Manzil plan and who is it for?

Manzil is for established institutions and networks that want a fixed, predictable cost and a true partnership. You get a dedicated account manager, hands-on onboarding and full data migration, direct developer WhatsApp support, and an SLA-backed 99.9% uptime guarantee. Everything else — custom branding, multi-site management, invoice billing, and annual reviews — is included too. Pricing is tailored to your student count and needs. Yes, at any time. There is no penalty for switching and all your data carries over seamlessly. Just get in touch with us.

Do you support multiple currencies?

Yes. Labbaik currently supports GBP for UK masjids, maktabs and madrasahs, with additional currency support planned for Malaysia, Pakistan, and the Middle East. Get in touch if you have a specific currency requirement.

Who manages the Stripe payments?

Stripe Connect is used so payments go directly into your organisation's own Stripe account — Labbaik never holds your funds. We automatically deduct our platform fee at the point of transaction via Stripe's platform fee mechanism.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is stored with row-level security enforced on every table. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe — we never store card details. Your organisation's data is fully isolated from every other institution on the platform.

How does Labbaik compare to other maktab and madrasah platforms?

Most maktab and madrasah platforms charge a fixed monthly subscription — typically $44–89/month — regardless of whether your fee collection is working, whether you're in term time, or whether you have 30 students or 300. You pay the same whether you get value or not. Labbaik is structurally different: we only earn when you collect card payments through Stripe. If Labbaik isn't helping your organisation run better, we make nothing. That means we're always incentivised to make the platform genuinely useful — not just to get you signed up.
